~What A Difference A Year Makes~

One year later, and Mom is unable to come to our house to celebrate Easter. Last year, she really wanted to help make the Lemon Meringue Pies and Bunny Cakes....and help she did. Read about it here.

This year....she is unable to stand and walk. She's totally wheel-chair bound. It's hard for her to move. She is unable to do anything for herself. It's heartbreaking to watch. She no longer has the ability to make choices for herself.

So this year, I'll make the lemon pies myself....and take her some. And this year, I'll get on my knees and thank the Lord that at this point in my life, I am still able to do so. We take SO much for granted.

This Easter Weekend, thank our Lord for the blessings in your life. And thank Him for dying on the cross for us.

I will be thanking Him also for the many blessings He bestows to me and my family.
I am sorry to hear about your Mom, and hope this Easter is not too lonely for you.

This post brought tears to my eyes -thinking of so many memories of my own and thinking then of you and the pain that comes from watching a loved one slowly wither away right before our eyes. Sometimes -when we think of it in terms of the years, it seems it is a slow process and then again, thinking of it by the years, it seems that time has just flown by way too quickly too.
It is so sad to think your Mother can't be with you on this Easter, to help with the traditional things you prepare, that she had taught and given you but remember too, those memories will stay with you -and now with your grandchildren -forever.
Peace.

I know this is one of your favorite times of the year, Carol. Hope Jackie continues your routine of bunny cakes.. prayers for a healthy new grandchild this month. I'm so excited (and jealous) for you and Jim. Our heavenly father has blessed us both so much. Love you lots.. Nel
