~Until Next Time.......~

Proclamations of "I'll come back again real soon, Grandma. Promise" made by the Little Princess from chocolate-edged lips that give kisses like no other little girl on the face of this earth. She gets prettier each time I see her.

Sweet tender kisses 'right on the lips' given freely by the Little Prince as he waves good-bye....blue 'blankie' clutched in one little fist....juice in the other. He's looking more and more like his Daddy each day.

The Easter baskets stand empty. Waiting to be packed away until next time.

The house is so still.

There is something missing. Something more than the bunny cake's behind: they've taken with them a very large piece of my heart.

But I'll wait patiently. Until next time.

This post was honored with a Post Of the Day Award over at authorblog. Thank you, David!

Goodbyes, even if temporary, are painful...but even so, you have created beauty out of it with this lovely blog post! And your half-eaten cake points to wonderful memories that you have shared...and I have shared with you...even if only vicariously! Blessings to you this week, my friend! ~Janine XO

Hi Carol,
You are such a gifted writer. It is so very quiet when they all go home. The toys are cleaned up the dishes are done and things are put back like before they came. But they will be back soon to fill your house with their love. Love the picture.
Love, Kay

How do they do that?!? Grandchildren apparently have super-powers when it comes to getting under their grandparents' skin, don't they? I go through withdrawals after a couple of days without my little one. So glad yours were with you!

Aw....... I have just had to say goodbye to my grandsons too! I get quite sad for a while. I do hate goodbyes.
Not surprised that this post won POTD! I really enjoyed reading it in a kind of wistful way! Congratulations!

I know the exact emotions you go through after the kiddies' departure back home.. I call it a blue funk. While they're at Grandma's, you can forget about the problems of life and look at our beautiful world through their innocent eyes. BTW.. love the T-shirt "J" was wearing.. too cute!!

That is a beautiful post! You make me remember to stop and savor each moment instead of planning and thinking in my head for the next one. I am so glad your mom is doing well and was able to help you make the little bunny family. I can just imagine you girls laughing it up in the kitchen.

So how did your Hot Cross Buns go? Did you end up making them like you planned?

Blessings to you today.
